SALAMAT means ‘THANK YOU’ in Filipino 🇵🇭 and is pronounced..
“SAH-LAH-MAHT”
When we started our family cookie business, we had no clue that SALAMAT would even become a business at all. It all began in Indianapolis, IN during the pandemic in 2020 when Mike (Founder) was learning how to bake from his Mama Odie (pictured below) for the very first time—simply wanting to be that cool soccer Dad who brought cookies to practice one day. And take in mind, he didn’t even have any kids yet lol.

…to friends and family who were helping him out when work as a photographer was hard to come by—anyone else lose their job during COVID? 😅
Then one day, a couple friends from a local chiropractor’s office asked if those cookies were for sale—he was like, "uhhhhh, yup ☝🏽😀," and that’s when the SALAMAT story began!

On Mother’s Day 2020 (5/10), we set a “300” cookie goal to help Mike pay his rent and utilities out in Los Angeles…

…and we have now shipped to 49/50 states (c’,mon Wyoming 😭, 5 countries, and just baked our 300,000th dessert—let’s GOOOOO!! 🍪🎉
